Getting into Delhi: entry hours and the border charge
This is the part of the trip that most often causes delays. Delhi allows medium and heavy goods vehicles on many roads only during set hours, mostly at night. Commercial vehicles also pay an Environment Compensation Charge when they enter the city, and Delhi limits which older trucks can come in. These rules apply to most trucks coming in from Agra, so we send a vehicle that meets them.
We time the departure from Agra so the truck reaches the Delhi border inside the allowed window and goes straight to your unloading point. If your receiver can only accept goods during the day, we plan a smaller vehicle or an early-morning drop. Tell us the receiving hours when you book.
What usually travels from Agra to Delhi
Agra is a large centre for footwear and leather goods, foundry and cast-iron parts, and stone and marble handicrafts. Much of this goes to traders, showrooms and warehouses in Delhi. We also carry machinery, office goods, packed furniture and household goods on this route.
Stone and marble items are heavy for their size and need firm packing and careful stacking. Leather and footwear cartons are light but bulky, so the truck size is chosen by volume rather than weight.
Example: when a full truck costs about the same
A marble handicraft workshop in Agra sends 6 tonnes of crated items to a Delhi showroom. As a part load, 6 tonnes at ₹3,500 to ₹5,500 per tonne comes to about ₹21,000 to ₹33,000. A reserved 19 ft or 20 ft truck costs ₹20,000 to ₹32,000. Since the two prices are almost the same, the full truck is the better choice here: no stops on the way, less handling of heavy crates, and a fixed delivery slot. GST is extra.
Choosing between a full truck and a part load
Book a full truck when you have a large consignment, a fixed delivery time or goods that should not be handled at stops on the way. The truck is reserved for your load, from pickup to drop.
Choose a part load for a few hundred kilos up to a couple of tonnes. Your goods share the truck with other bookings going to Delhi, and the charge is per tonne. Delivery usually takes 1 to 2 days longer.
Pickup in Agra, drop in Delhi
We load from factories, workshops, shops and homes across Agra, including Sikandra, Foundry Nagar, Nunhai, Bodla, Shahganj and the Fatehabad Road side. In Delhi we deliver to markets and industrial areas such as Okhla, Naraina, Mayapuri, Wazirpur, Bawana, Narela and the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar area, as well as homes and offices.
Busy old markets often do not allow trucks inside during working hours. For such drops we plan an early unloading or a transfer to a smaller vehicle, and we tell you in advance if it adds to the cost.
Papers to keep ready
- Tax invoice or delivery challan for the goods.
- E-way bill for taxable goods worth more than ₹50,000.
- Receiver name, full Delhi address and phone number.
- Packing list and self-declaration if the goods are used household items.
The lorry receipt (LR) we give you at loading records the number of packages and the delivery address.
