Service Agreement & Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Gati Movers and Packers (GST: 06CBZPN8878H1ZH). By booking our services, you accept these terms and conditions. We are a moving company established in 2010, and have relocated over 500+ Indian families across the country. Our operations span Delhi NCR and pan-India destinations.
This agreement governs your moving and packing service from the date of quotation confirmation until final delivery at your destination address. If any term conflicts with your written service agreement signed by both parties, that signed agreement takes precedence.
Service Scope & Limitations
What We Cover
- Packing, loading, transportation, and unloading of household goods and office items
- Specialty care for fragile heirlooms, antiques, and valuable belongings (our core expertise since 2010)
- Insurance cover up to the declared value of goods
- Local shifting in Delhi NCR, Gurugram (Pin 122001–122016), and Noida (Pin 201301–201311)
- Inter-state and outstation moves to major metros and tier-1 cities
- Settling-in support, unpacking assistance, and furniture placement after delivery
What We Don't Cover
- Items explicitly excluded from the quotation (e.g., plants, pets, hazardous materials, firearms, explosives)
- Goods left uninsured beyond declared value at time of quotation
- Structural damage to existing buildings, walls, or flooring caused by your prior condition or landlord requirements
- Loss or damage due to natural disasters, riots, or events beyond our reasonable control
- Pickup or delivery outside agreed addresses or timeslots without prior written approval

Our quotation is based on your household inventory details, moving distance, and date. For a typical 3-BHK apartment move from South Delhi (Pin 110017) to Bangalore, pricing typically ranges from ₹35,000 to ₹65,000 excluding GST, depending on fragile content and specialty packing. All quotes are valid for 15 days unless extended in writing.
Payment Schedule:
- Advance: 25% of the quoted amount upon booking confirmation
- Balance: 75% payable before or on the moving day
- Additional charges: Unforeseen costs (extra labour, special haulage, waiting time) are billed separately with supporting invoices
All invoices include GST at 18% (or applicable slab). We accept bank transfers, cheque, and card payments. Cancellation refunds are subject to our Cancellation Policy.
Insurance & Liability
Gati Movers and Packers provides mandatory third-party transit insurance. Cover includes breakage, pilferage, and theft up to your declared inventory value.
Your Responsibility
- Declare the accurate value and condition of all items before packing begins
- Provide photographic evidence of high-value items (jewellery, artwork, electronics) for claim substantiation
- Inspect goods at delivery and raise disputes within 24 hours with signed damage report
Our Liability Cap
Gati's liability is capped at the declared value of goods or the insurance cover amount, whichever is lower. We are not liable for indirect loss, business interruption, or sentimental value. Claims must be filed within 30 days of delivery with photographic and documentary proof.
Delivery Timeline & Delays
We provide an estimated delivery window (e.g., "3 to 5 working days" for Delhi-Bangalore route) in your quotation. Delays caused by traffic, weather, or regulatory checkpoint queues are beyond our control. For delays exceeding 5 working days from the promised date, and caused solely by Gati negligence, you may lodge a written complaint with 15 days' notice for claim consideration.
You must ensure someone is present at the delivery address during the agreed window. If re-delivery is required due to recipient unavailability, additional charges may apply.
Damage Claims & Dispute Resolution
Filing a Claim
- Inspect goods immediately upon delivery and document any damage with photographs and video
- Provide a Delivery Damage Report (signed by both parties) within 24 hours
- Submit the report with invoices, insurance documents, and evidence to our office at the address in your quotation
- Gati will acknowledge receipt and investigate within 7 working days
Jurisdiction & Escalation
All disputes arising from this agreement shall be governed by the laws of India and the jurisdiction of courts in Delhi NCR, where Gati's registered office is located.
Cancellation & Modification Policy
- 30+ days before move date: 100% refund of advance minus 5% administrative charge
- 15–29 days before move date: 50% refund of advance
- Less than 15 days: Advance is forfeited; however, if we secure another booking for that date/truck, refund may be considered
- Customer-initiated rescheduling: May incur a ₹500 to ₹2,000 rebooking charge depending on truck availability and distance
Special Items & Fragile Goods
At Gati, we treat heirlooms, antiques, and breakable items as our own—our 15+ years of expertise in fragile relocation is what sets us apart. All such items require declared special packing at an additional cost and enhanced insurance cover. Quotes for heirloom relocations (e.g., from Bandra, Mumbai to Kochi) start from ₹8,000 for specialty wrapping and crating.
You must provide accurate descriptions and valuations of fragile goods. We reserve the right to refuse transport of items we believe cannot be safely relocated.
Data Privacy & Customer Information
We collect your name, address, phone number, email, and goods inventory for service delivery. Your data is kept confidential and used only for quotations, billing, and service improvement. We comply with applicable data protection norms and do not share personal information with third parties except for insurance and transport logistics.

What does my quote include, and what charges are extra?
Our quote includes packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and basic furniture placement. Extra charges apply for: storage (₹500–₹1,200/month per 100 sq. ft.), unpacking services (₹800–₹1,500 per room), fragile heirloom specialist handling (₹2,000–₹5,000), and optional transit insurance (3% of declared value). GST (18%) is calculated separately on labour and materials unless your business registration qualifies for exemption under Section 9A, GST Act 2017.
Are tolls, fuel surcharge, and state entry taxes included?
Toll costs for NH highways (e.g., Delhi-Bangalore expressway, ₹3,000–₹8,000 depending on route) and fuel surcharge (applied if diesel prices exceed ₹95/litre state-average on quote date) are quoted separately. State entry/octroi taxes levied by local authorities in destinations like Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu are passed through as actuals. Your invoice will itemize each charge transparently.
What is your cancellation and amendment policy?
Cancellations made 15+ days before move-date incur no penalty. Cancellations 7–14 days before: 25% of booking advance is retained. Within 7 days: 50% retained. Amendments to move-date, route, or services requested up to 10 days before are free; closer to the date, a ₹500–₹1,500 revision fee applies. Postponements beyond 60 days are treated as new bookings with fresh quote.
What does your transit insurance cover, and what are claim limits?
Standard coverage: damage or loss of goods during packing, loading, transit, and unloading. Coverage limit: up to 3% of declared value (minimum claim ₹5,000, maximum ₹50 lakhs for individual families). Claims must be filed within 7 days with photographic evidence and receipts. Settlement typically takes 20–30 days post-approval.
What payment terms do you require, and do you offer flexible EMI?
Standard terms: 30% non-refundable advance to confirm booking, 50% by 5 days before move-date, remaining 20% on delivery. We accept NEFT, RTGS, cheque, credit cards (with 2.5% processing fee), and for corporate relocations ≥₹2,00,000, EMI through HDFC/Axis via 6–12 month tenure is available. GST is charged on all labour.
Under which laws do disputes get resolved?
All agreements are governed by Indian law, specifically the Contract Act 1872, Consumer Protection Act 2019, and GST Act 2017. Disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in New Delhi (Gati's registered office), unless the customer initiates proceedings in their home state's consumer commission (which has pan-India authority). Mediation is encouraged before litigation.
How do you protect fragile heirlooms and antiques?
Fragile items undergo specialist packaging: thermocol wrapping (2–3 inches), wooden crate reinforcement, and climate-controlled vehicles for temperature-sensitive pieces. Our 15-year heritage means we've safely relocated families' precious belongings. Additional insurance specifically for antiques/heirlooms costs 3% of declared value and covers up to declared value, with claim settlement within 7 days.
Do you provide storage, and what happens if my new home isn't ready?
Yes. Short-term storage at our secure, temperature-monitored warehouses costs ₹500–₹1,200/month per 100 sq. ft. (first 14 days free with most moves). Long-term storage (3+ months) offers 15% discount. Goods remain insured (0.5% value coverage). Retrieval from storage incurs ₹1,500–₹3,000 depending on distance. All storage agreements are governed by warehouse receipt rules under the Warehouse Receipts Act.
