Four Papers, Sent Before Pickup Day

Car transport from Mumbai to Delhi needs four documents, and all four can be photographed and sent on WhatsApp before pickup day: the registration certificate (RC), a valid insurance policy, a government photo ID of the registered owner, and — if a colleague or relative is handing over the car in Mumbai — a signed authorisation letter naming that person.

Keep the original RC with you rather than in the glovebox; it travels with you, not with the car. If the car is still under bank hypothecation, no extra paperwork is needed for transport within India. You will only need the bank NOC later, if you re-register the car in Delhi.

Dust, Stone Chips and the Deck Decision

• Take out cash, documents and anything loose. Carriers do not insure personal belongings left in the car.
• Moving in December or January? Say so. The Jaipur–Delhi leg runs into morning fog and we plan a longer window rather than promise a date we may miss.
• Photograph the odometer yourself on pickup day. Ten seconds now ends every later argument about how far the car travelled.
• Fold the mirrors and remove the roof carrier if one is fitted; both are the most commonly damaged parts during loading.
